Emmaus College, Jimboomba - 'Melaleuca' Amenities Re-Development

In mid-2020, our team was commissioned by the college to develop a concept for upgrading the existing toilet block in the Primary School Precinct. The brief called for a functional, durable, and low-maintenance solution that would improve amenity and comfort for students and staff. Our design placed a strong emphasis on safety and ease of supervision, ensuring clear sightlines and secure access while maintaining privacy. The result is a cleaner, brighter, and more welcoming environment, using robust materials and thoughtful detailing to ensure longevity and ease of upkeep.

In 2022, our team was commissioned by Emmaus College to develop a concept for a new playground as part of the Primary School Precinct redevelopment. The design aimed to create an engaging and inclusive space that encourages exploration, creativity, and active play. By integrating natural elements and varied play zones, the playground offers opportunities for both structured activities and imaginative, free-form interaction—supporting the school’s vision for a vibrant and connected learning environment.

Inspired by the Emmaus Way Bible story and the Reflections sculpture by artist Jako Roeloffs, this project was conceived as a place for stillness, contemplation, and connection. The design invites visitors to pause—immersing themselves in both the natural world and their own inner journey. Every element, from spatial layout to material choice, was considered to create an environment that nurtures reflection and a deeper sense of presence.
