In another collaboration with John from the DUST TEMPLE, we developed the design for a roof structure at the El Ranchero Bar, located within Mo’s Desert Clubhouse—one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic alternative venues. Our work focused on creating a structure that complements the venue’s distinctive character while providing functional shelter and enhancing the overall atmosphere of this celebrated community space.

Dust Temple, Gold Coast - Market Roof

We were excited when J & I approached our office to develop a concept design for the ‘Market’ roof at the DUST TEMPLE. Their goal was to replace the existing shade sails with a permanent, waterproof structure. Drawing inspiration from traditional market hall architecture, we designed a ‘long-house’ roof supported by ‘butterfly’ lean-tos. The final design cleverly integrates the existing concrete columns and timber beams, capturing the essence of what has made the DUST TEMPLE an iconic Gold Coast institution over the past decade—spectacular in its simplicity.
